Top 10 Stories: #10 Storm's No Hitter

Although her overall pitching record in her senior year was not all that impressive,  four-year softball starter Amanda Storm stole the show for William Jewell softball during the final game of the season, throwing a no-hitter to gain a split of a doubleheader with Drury University.

Storm's no-hitter in her final game as a Cardinal is our #10 story of the year.

A bedrock of Dustin Comb's program for the four years of her career, Amanda played defensively in center field when not pitching, and hit second in the order.

Against Drury, the Cardinals scored a run in the first inning and two runs in the second inning of game two, then turned it over to Storm, who struck out six and walked six in navigating her way through the no-hitter. The Drury run scored on a walk and an error by Storm in the sixth inning, and was the only time the Panthers had a major uprising against Jewell.

With Jewell unable to qualify for the GLVC post-season tournament as a first-year member of the conference, the Cardinals ended their year at 24-23, 18-15 in the conference.  Thier GLVC record was good enough for third place in the Western Division and would have qualified them for the playoffs in another year.

Lexi Rozmus, Eileen Greenwood, and Cline each had RBIs for the Cardinals. Drury made three errors in the game.
