The Women’s Track and Field team of 1986, coached by Larry Hamilton, won the Heart of America Conference Indoor Championship by 138 points with 196 points and were undefeated in the indoor season, defeating 17 opponents in the process. In addition, they also won the HAAC Outdoor Championship by 167 points.

They also were Champions of the Central Methodist University Relays, the Westminster College Relays and the Park University Relays.

Indoor Conference Champions in 1986 included:
  • Mitzi Wakefield in the Shot Put
  • LaRonda Ward in the 400 Meters
  • Cami Kupcho in the Long Jump and Triple Jump
  • Julie Bay in the 55 Meter Hurdles
  • Bridget Meier in the 600 Meter Run
  • Katrinka Foreman in the 800 Meter Run
  • Tracy Forsyth in the 100 Meters and the 4x400 Meter Relay Team of Ward, Meier, Gaines and Foreman

Outdoor Conference Champions in 1986 included: 
  • Julie Bay in the 100 Meters and 400 Meters
  • Katrinka Foreman in the 800 Meters and the 1500 Meters
  • Julie Roberts in the High Jump
  • Mitsi Wakefield in the Javelin
  • Cami Kupcho in the Long Jump and Triple Jump
  • the 4x100 Meter Relay Team of Forsyth, Jackson, Moore and Ward and the 4x400 Meter Relay Unit of Moor, Jarecki, Foreman and Ward
