In their final season in the NAIA, the 2010 women’s soccer team, coached by Hall of Famer Chris Cissell, made history qualifying for the program's third national tournament and advancing to the quarterfinals. The team finished with an overall record of 16-3-2 and 7-1-1 in conference play, to finish second. The Cardinals outscored their opponents 60-26 on the season and were on goal better than 62% of the time. Additionally, the team ranked among the top-35 in NAIA Division I with 48 assists, 2.3 assists per game, 60 total goals, 10.7 shots on goal per game, 2.8 goals per game and seven shutouts. This team boasted an impressive eight All-HAAC players including Mallory Malone, Annie Shepard, Jamie Skahan, Sali Stout, and Kelli Sontag in goal along with two All-Americans in Danielle Doerfler and freshman Sarah Franklin. Franklin led the offense with 30 goals, half of the team's total, and led the NAIA in game winning goals and shots on goal per game while being number two in total goals, goals per game, total points, and points per game. In the national tournament, the Cardinals dominated Ashford (Iowa), winning 8-4, in a game where Franklin set not one, but two NAIA records with five goals and 12 points, marks that still stand as the most in a single national tournament game. The team then grinded out a 1-0 win over Kansas Wesleyan behind Sarah Williams’ goal in the 28thminute, to advance to the final eight. Jewell fell 5-2 to Baker University in the quarterfinals but finished with the second furthest postseason run in program history.
