Conner attended William Jewell College from 1987-1992 and was a four-year letter winner in basketball under Coach Jim Nelson.

She was a two-time team captain, and named All-Conference first team three times. In 1989 she was selected the Heart of America Conference Most Valuable Player and repeated this honor in 1990. Conner also accrued 1,700 career points and led the Cardinals to three HAAC championships.

Additionally, Conner lettered in softball twice and was an All-District selection both years. She played on William Jewell College’s first ever varsity soccer team and was named the team’s MVP. Adams was named Jewell’s female Athlete of the Year in both 1990 and 1991, and still managed to maintain a 3.7 GPA while double majoring in Health and Exercise Science and English.
