Charles was a four-year letter winner in both football and wrestling. He was one of the ‘pioneers’ of Jewell’s wrestling program. ‘Pic’ as he was known, had a career record of 38-0 in conference competition and 8-0 in AAU competition. His lone loss was at the NAIA National Meet his senior year. Chuck is the first wrestler to be enshrined in the WJC Athletic Hall of Fame. He played tackle on both offense and defense in football, he was on teams that were a combined 28-8-2 record and won or shared three MCAU Titles.
