Considered one of the best quarterbacks in program history Danny Brown attended Jewell from 1967-72. In addition to football, he also lettered in basketball and baseball.
Despite injuries cutting his career short, Brown threw for 22 touchdowns as a junior and led the Cardinals to a combined record 35-6-1, including three conference titles during his career. He was named Missouri College Athletic Union All-Conference and NAIA All-District teams as a junior and senior. In addition, he was named an NAIA Honorable Mention All-America in 1970.
Brown also played on Jewell’s 1970 baseball team which won conference, district, area champs, and qualified for the NAIA World Series.
