Godfriaux was a student athlete from 1908-14 and a coach from1937-47. He was a seven-year letter winner in baseball. The eligibility rules allowed WJC Academy students (high school) to play on the team. He played on two State Championship teams. The squad was undefeated during his senior year. As halfback, Godfriaux lettered all four years in football. His team won the State Title during his junior year. He was selected on the All-Missouri All-Star team as a senior. Additionally, he played on the basketball team for four years.
Godfriaux’s sister married R.E. “Dad” Bowles. Godfriaux coached at WJC for 11 years with his squads (football, basketball, baseball and track) winning nine championships.
