Homer Drew attended Jewell from 1962-1966 where he lettered in basketball and tennis. He was Jewell’s first three-time NAIA Honorable Mention All-American on the hardwood while playing on two Missouri Athletic Conference championship teams. Drew is among the school’s career scoring leaders with 1,261 points at set what was at the time the single game scoring record with 43 points. He was also a three time MCAU First Team All Conference selection.
Drew went on to a highly successful coaching career at NAIA-II Bethel in Indiana and NCAA-II Valparaiso where he retired from coaching in 2002. He was inducted into the Basketball Coaches Assocation Hall of Fame in 2019.
