Jim is a 1979 graduate of William Jewell and was four-year letter winner in baseball.  Tallley was Captain as a senior and played first base and the outfield for the Cardinals.  This Missouri City native had several outstanding games including three home runs at Missouri Valley (he added another home run in the second game of the double header), had three hits and five stolen bases vs. Park, hit a grand slam vs. Northwestern, Iowa and added another home run in the second game.  He carried a batting average of .402 as a senior and was named All-Conference (HAAC), All-District (NAIA 16) as well as an NAIA Honorable Mention All-American.  He helped Jewell to four conference titles (1976, 1977, 1978 and 1979) and the Cards played in the NAIA World Series in 1976 and 1977.  Along with younger brother Jack (also a baseball player), they become the first brother combination to into the WJC Athletic Hall of Fame. 

Talley was employed by the Liberty School District (1979-85) where he coached football, basketball and baseball.  From 1985-95 he was in sales and from 1996-present he has been employed by the Kansas City, Mo., School District at Pinkerton and Fairmount Elementary Schools.

Jim has two sons, Grant and Tyler.
