John Strada attended Jewell from 1970-74 and lettered all four years in football. His honors include 1st Team All-Conference (HAAC), 1st Team NAIA All-District and 1st Team Kodak All-American. In 1973 his squad finished with a record of 11-1. This was the most wins in the history of the college. The team was undefeated in the regular season and defeated St. Mary’s of the Plains in the Mineral Water Bowl where he was voted MVP lineman in the game. Strada played in the NFL for the New York Giants and the Kansas City Chiefs.
