Kay Kovar attended Jewell from 1981-1985. She was a letter winner in four sports including: volleyball, basketball, track, and softball. She was the first woman in Jewell history to accomplish this feat. Kovar played on Jewell’s only HAAC Conference Championship volleyball team in 1981. She was also named 1st Team All-State AIAW and HAAC All-Conference (three times) in basketball. Kovar was HAAC All-Conference in track while participating in shot-put and javelin. She was also the NAIA District Champ in javelin (sophomore year) and shot-put (junior year). She served the college as a head volleyball coach and assistant softball coach as a fifth year senior. Kovar now works for the NCAA at their national headquarters in Indianapolis, Indiana.
