Ken Clemens was a four-year letterwinner on the football field, earning All-Heart of America and NAIA District 16 honors in every season of his career. As a senior in the fall of 1990, he was named Second Team All-America by the NAIA after posting a school record 1,036 receiving yards, a mark which still stands. His 10 touchdowns and 53 receptions in 1990 are also second and fifth in a single season at Jewell. For his career he caught 132 passes for 2,327 yards, an average of more than 17 yards per play, and scored 21 touchdowns.  Also a standout in track and field, he earned All-HAAC honors in the 400 and 300, the high jump, and the 4x400 relay. He was also named the 1991 Cecil Martin Award recipient for Male Athlete of the Year.
