This St. Louis, Mo., (Mehlville HS) native was a four-year letter winner in swimming/diving for the Lady Cardinals. She qualified for the NAIA National Meet three times (’90, ’92 & ’93) and missed the opportunity in ’91 because she was studying abroad at Harlaxton in the second semester. She placed seventh at Nationals as a junior and sixth (All-American) as a senior in one meter diving. She was the only member of the swim/diving team as a junior and senior (coached by Mitzi Mathews) as Jewell had ‘dropped’ the program after the 1990-91 school year (coached by WJC Hall of Famer Larry Hamilton). She won the one meter diving title at the Washington U. Invitational as a senior. She was a.Physical Education Major with a minor in Science.
