Robert McPhee attended Jewell from 1973-1977. He was a Physical Education major and a member of the Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He played two years of football (JV/ scout team) and was a two year letter winner in cross country. He was also a four year letter winner in track. McPhee was the cross country and track captain. He held two indoor track school records. These records included the 660 yard run and the mile relay. He held another four records in outdoor track. These records included the 880 yard run at 1:55.3 and the mile run at 4:21.2, as well as the sprint medley and distance relays. McPhee was a conference champ in the 880. He also participated on five conference championship teams which included two cross country and outdoor track teams and one indoor track team.
