The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) has announced the recipients of the 2011-12 Team Academic All-GLVC Awards. The GLVC recognizes each team from member institutions that have maintained a 3.30 grade point average for the academic year. There were a league-record 85 teams that earned the honor for the 2011-12 academic year, shattering the previous mark of 70 set a year ago. Five William Jewell College athletic teams earned this honor.
The women's cross country led the Cardinals with a team GPA of 3.50 followed by the women's track & field team with a team GPA of 3.45.
Men's tennis finished the season with a 3.41 GPA to earn their first Team Academic Award and were the only men's team from Jewell awarded. The women's tennis team also earned a spot on the annual list with a 3.40 GPA. Volleyball was the final team from Jewell honored with a 3.30 GPA.
There were a total of 13 men's teams and 72 women's teams tabbed for the honor. The sport of tennis led the men's honorees yet again with six of the league's 14 men's tennis teams earning the accolade. There were three men's cross country teams, two men's golf programs, and one baseball and soccer team each that were named to the Team Academic All-GLVC list.
