LIBERTY, Mo. - William Jewell College football senior
Jesi Bediako passed away on May 23, 2025, at the age of 24, following a tragic motorcycle accident. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 14 at 1 p.m in Gano Chapel, on the William Jewell campus.
Born in Merriam, Kansas, he was a resident of Kansas City, but he lived in Massachusetts, California, and Cape Girardeau (Mo.), to fulfill his football dreams.
He is survived by his father, Joseph Y. Bediako; his mother, Yolanda A. Bediako; his senior brother, Nkansa I. Bediako; his Aunt, Marcella Jones; and five uncles: Gabriel Bediako (Trina), Marcelino Lake (Melani), Michael Bediako, Ralph Bediako (Cheryl), and David Bediako (Cynthia). He also is survived by a host of cousins: Ian Gumbs, Duane Gumbs, Marvin Gumbs, Alex Gumbs, Kelley Gumbs, Joshua Bediako, Janay Lake (Julie), Marcelino I. Lake II, Elia Amegashie, John E. Lake II, Sarah Bediako, Rachel Bediako, Morgan Lake, Maiya Lake, L'ange Lemmonier, Avery Lemmonier, Cameron Jones. Jesi was part of a large and loving extended family with cousins throughout the Caribbean, Europe, Australia, and Indonesia.
