The William Jewell Cardinal softball team fell 10-2 and 2-0 against Lewis University in a GLVC doubleheader Sunday in Romeoville, Ill.
In game one Lewis exploded for four runs in the third and fourth innings respectively to take complete command of the game.

Rachel Hayden gave up 10 runs on 11 hits while pitching four innings.
Emily Cline was the lone bright spot offensively going two for two with an RBI and a run scored.
In game two the Cardinals were unable to get anything going thanks to a strong pitching performance from Lewis University's Kelly Bowler (4-2) who pitched a two hit shutout with seven strikeouts.
Maria Buckingham (3-3) was the hard luck loser tossing six innings giving up two runs on five hits while striking out five.
The Cardinals, 8-7 on the season will host University of Missouri-St. Louis on Friday, March 17 at 12:00 p.m. on the Jewell campus in Liberty, Mo.
