The William Jewell College Athletic Performance department and staff are recognized for delivering a premier experience and guiding student-athletes towards the best version of themselves mentally, physically, and behaviorally.

William Jewell College is partnered with Liberty Hospital Sports Medicine to provide student-athletes an enhanced level of healthcare, which includes athletic performance assistants. Through this partnership, Liberty Hospital becomes the exclusive provider for Jewell student-athletes. All student-athletes participating in the College's NCAA Division II sports as well as members of the Cardinal cheer and dance teams will have access to this comprehensive model.

We strive to deliver a premier athletic development experience by committing to and upholding a culture of excellence that is rooted in discipline, responsibility, and service. We value and support the mission of the College and work to guide student-athletes towards the best version of themselves every day.

William Jewell's performance mission  is to use the discipline of sports science to mitigate injuries, develop confidence, improve speed and strength and educate our athletes on performance nutrition.

Our goal is to help develop the countries most dominate student athletes. We guarantee that the strength and conditioning staff will be well educated, professional, and attune to the needs of the student athletes.

Speed Training Philosophy
Teach biomechanical "shapes" that fall within the movement bandwidth of the most current race models that are advantageous for maximal potential acquisition and injury reduction.
We sprint, and sprint often, as speed training is a training priority!

Strength Training Philosophy
Ground-based approach that focuses on training the kinetic chain, through loaded coordinated movements that have transfer to the Hierarchy of athletic development:
  • Mobility and Stability "Movement over maxes"
  • Work Capacity
  • Strength
  • Explosive Strength
  • Elastic Strength
  • Speed
  • Maximal intent and minimal "Grinding" using micro dosing allowing the CNS to recover
