The William Jewell College women's tennis team has signed two players for the 2017-18 season, head coach
Paul Worstell announced on Thursday. Morgan Holopirek, from Hesston, Kan., and Felecia Cummons a native of Peculiar Mo., each signed their National Letter of Intent during the early signing period that began last Wednesday.

"We are so excited to add both Morgan and Felecia to our program," said Worstell. "They are extremely hard working student-athletes and will be great additions to our team."

Holopirek has been a standout at Hesston High School, qualifying for the Kansas State Tournament for the last three years. During her junior year, Holopirek placed fifth at state in singles while helping her team achieve a State Championship. This past season, her senior campaign, Holopirek finished second in state in singles while her team finished third. She has also won numerous sportsmanship awards from the United States Tennis Association. Â

Holopirek currently ranks first in her class with a near perfect grade point average. She is a member of the National Honor Society and has been a part of the Principals Honor Roll every semester.Â

Cummons joins Jewell from Raymore-Peculiar High School, where she was a three time district champion and a state qualifier her sophomore year.   She has also been the Raymore-Peculiar boys tennis team manager the last three years.Â
