INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – William Jewell's Martina Torrent has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Athletes of the Week in women's swimming and diving, as announced by the league office Wednesday.

The sophomore led the Cardinals in the 400 medley relay with a 1:13.32 split in the breast stroke as the team broke a nine-year-old pool record at 4:32.25. In addition she won the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:27.42 and the 200 breaststroke. 

This is the first honor of Torrent's career and the first for the Cardinals since Emily Sawyer in January 2021.
