The William Jewell College men's tennis team (2-2) lost a 6-3 match against University of Nebraska-Kearney on Friday, March 1. The match was played at the indoor courts in Grand Island, Neb.
The Cardinals collected a win at No.3 doubles as the team of
Jimmy Hunter and
Michael Rawat bested their opponents 8-5. The Lopers took No. 1 and No. 2 doubles by scores of 8-3 and 8-5 respectively.
Junior
Bryan Thomas staged a comeback at No. 2 singles to tie the match score 2-2 with his 1-6, 6-2, 10-1 win.
Shane Giannetti and
Max Cooper both lost tough three set battles at No. 1 and No. 6 singles. Senior
Bronson Brassel picked up a win an No.3 with his 6-1, 2-6, 10-7 victory.
The Cardinals will take on Colorado Christian on Saturday at the Grand Island Tennis Center in Grand Island, Neb., at 8:00 a.m.
