Jewell Concludes Road Series With Close Loss

ROLLA, Mo. - William Jewell men's soccer dropped a lone-goal affair to Missouri S&T on Sunday afternoon, 1-0. The Cardinals are 2-10-3 headed into the last week of the regular season while being 1-8-3 in the GLVC.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Jewell only got two shots off in the first half, the first being from Alexis Ibarra in the 4' and the next from Rani Hadid in the 29' before the Miners scored with five minutes left in the half.
  • The Cardinals rattled off shots by Kaleb Fannin, Caua Nascimento, and Noah Jimenez but none could be the equalizer as Jewell fell 1-0.
 
KEY STATS
  • Umberto DiCarlo racked up a season-high seven saves.
  • Nascimento's three shots were the most of any Cardinal.
  • Jewell was out-shot 24 to seven while not recording any shots on goal. 

UP NEXT
The Cardinals head back to Liberty for one final homestand as they host the Lincoln (Mo.) Blue Tigers Friday evening.
