ELKHART, Ind. - The William Jewell swim teams concluded their season at the GLVC Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Championships at Elkhart Health and Aquatics on Saturday evening. After five days of competing, the women finished with 521 points to end the meet in 7th place, while the men finished in 9th place with 408.5 points.
In total, the two teams had 21 top-24 swimmers, with a combined total of 46 top-24 finishes. Jewell's two highest finishes both came from
Martina Torrent, who placed 5
th in the 100 meter breast stroke and 7
th in the 200 meter breast stroke. The highest placing male swimmers were
Caio Cavarsan and
Lucas Murcia Dominguez, with 12
th place finishes in the 200 meter fly and 200 meter breast stroke, respectively.
The women's relay team also achieved a 5
th place finish in the 200 medley and 7
th in the 400 medley.
Jack Rosebaugh and
Eve Wiltse were recognized as GLVC James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award Nominees.
