BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. - The William Jewell men's golf team finished sixth in the NSIC Preview hosted by Winona State on Tuesday at Adam's Pointe. After shooting a 293 in the first round, Jewell collected 16 birdies on their way to a 287 second round, just one stroke shy of tying the program record for a single round.
The combined 580 36-hole score is the best in NCAA history for the men's program, breaking the 592 by 12 strokes, a mark set in September 2022 at the Rockhurst Fall Invitational.
MEN'S LINEUP
- After tying for second last week, Bryson Oots and Robin Persson tied for another finish this time for fifth place at 141. Persson shot a career best 69 in round one, while Oots went sub-70 with a 68 on day two.
- Isac Fredriksson moved up 10 spots in round two after shooting a 73, one stroke lower than his day one count.
- Finishing +7, Carson Lee finished 61st overall while Scotty Jolly finished tied for 82nd after a 77 on Tuesday.
- Freshman Cooper Newkirk earned his way into competing as an independent tied Jolly with a 155 total.

Both the men and women will make the trip to Wheaton, Illinois next week for the Lewis Invitational hosted at Catigny Golf Club.
