LIBERTY, Mo. - The William Jewell women's basketball team got off to a strong start on Thursday night against Upper Iowa but a cold fourth quarter allowed the Peacocks to separate for the 68-53 win. The Cardinals fall to 0-16 on the season and 0-10 in conference play. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Three triples from Syderah Farmer and Alex McGarrah gave Cardinals the early lead with Jalea Price hitting two free throws to make it 23-16 in favor of the Cardinals after the opening quarter. 
• Jewell was outscored 21-8 in the second frame rallied to take a six point lead at the intermission after holding the Cardinals scoreless for more than four minutes.
• The third quarter was a back-and-forth battle as Upper Iowa pushed their lead to 11 in the opening minute but Jewell followed three more three pointers, one each from Farmer, McGarrah, and Price to pull the Cardinals back within three, 45-42.
• The Peacocks finished the game on a 14-7 run to push the advantage to double digits in the final 90 seconds.  

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Farmer finished with a team high 17 points and nine rebounds while McGarrah added 13 points. 
• Jewell shot 34% from the field, hit eight three point field goals, and scored 20 points in the paint.
