Game 1: Rockhurst 6, Jewell 3
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After four scoreless frames, the Hawks broke the ice in the fifth with four runs on three hits, capped by a two-run home run from Claire Long.
- Jewell immediately responded with three runs of their own in the following frame as an error and a walk put two runners on for Mikayla Chairez who blasted her eighth home run of the season to pull the Cardinals within one.
- Rockhurst used a two-run single in the bottom half of the sixth to add insurance runs on their way to the 6-3 victory.Ā Ā
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Jewell was limited to four hits by the Hawks' Avery Huffman who struck out 12 batters on the day.
- Chairez led the Cardinals with three RBI while Amanda Chung drew two walks.
- Reagan Bennett (6-10) took the loss, working six frames with six earned runs on seven hits and five walks.Ā

Game 2: Rockhurst 12, Jewell 4
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Rockhurst used three hits and took advantage of two Cardinal miscues to take an early 6-0 lead after two innings.Ā
- Jewell got on the board in the fourth as Emma Jane Ogle tripled and scored on a sac fly. After the Hawks hit a solo home run, Bennett doubled in the fifth to plate Chung and make it 7-2, in favor of the home team.Ā
- Jewell got one back as Almejo singled and came around to score on a wild pitch but the Hawks plated three in the bottom of the sixth to induce the run-rule.Ā Ā
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- The Cardinals finished with seven hits, all by different players with Chairez also drawing two walks and swiped a base.Ā
- Katie Heckman (3-6) suffered the loss, allowing nine earned runs on 10 hits and seven walks.Ā

Jewell heads to Southwest Baptist on Sunday afternoon for a doubleheader with the Bearcats beginning at 12 p.m.
