Justin Garrard enters his second season with the Jewell track and field and cross country staff in 2019-2020, working primarily with distance runners.

• October 1, 2018 - Named Assistant Track and Field/Cross Country Coach

• Garrard returns to Jewell from Florida State University where he served as an assistant coach in the men's and women's track and field and cross country programs for two years.
• While with the Seminoles, he helped lead multiple student-athletes to ACC championships and NCAA-I qualifications.
• Prior to his work with Florida State, he made stops at Pennsylvania and Ottawa (Kan.). At Penn, he helped the Quakers to the first NCAA-I National Championship appearance in 40 years.
• On his previous term with the Cardinals he lead Jewell to the highest finish at the conference championship in the history of the women's program, as well as numerous national qualifiers and school records.

• Garrard competed for Ottawa University where he was an eight-time NAIA National Championships.
• He earned All-America honors at the 2009 Outdoor Championships in the marathon.
• He still holds six school records for the Braves.

A native of Antelope, Kan., he earned his bachelor's degree from Ottawa in 2009 and a master's in business administration in 2012.
