Rayshawn Walker

Rayshawn Walker is in his third season at the helm of the track and field and cross country programs in 2024-2025 and sixth season on staff.

Jewell Highlights
• Has mentored four student-athletes to a combined 10 individual GLVC Championships
• Mentored four athletes to nine NCAA-II National Championship selections with two combining for three All-America honors (Cydney Banks & Caroline Mayes) 
• Coached Connor Hull to GLVC Indoor Freshman of the Year honors in his first season
• Cardinal athletes have earned eight GLVC weekly honors during his tenure
• Has seen 28 All-GLVC honors by 11 different athletes over three seasons


Prior to Jewell
• Served as the cross country and distance coach and recruiting coordinator at the University of Arkansas-Little Rock 
• Helped mentor the 2019 Sun Belt Conference champion in the men's indoor mile
• Coached the 2018 women's champion in the 800 meters, 3,000 meter steeple chase, and 400 meters
• Spent time as an assistant coach at Abilene Christian University, coaching the distance team, specializing in training, recruiting, and home meet operations
• Coached six individual conference champions, including the women's 10K, 5K, 3K, 400 hurdles 
• Led athlete to 2017 men's and 2018 women's South Central Region Cross Country All-America honors  
• Led the Wildcats to the first division I conference title in school history with the 2015 cross country championship
• Helped coach athletes to a 12th place finish at the 2018 NCAA-I Championships in the 4x100 meter relay 
• Part of coaching staffs that mentored 40 All-Southland Conference performers and 12 champions along with 24 All-Sun Belt Conference performers, eight champions, and three Athletes of the Year


Playing Career2
• Competed collegiately at Notre Dame College
• Was a 2013 NAIA national qualifier in the 800 meters and 4x800 relay


Personal
• Earned his undergraduate degree in psychology from Notre Dame College (OH) in 2013 and a master's in Kinesiology, sports recreation, and management from Hardin-Simmons University (TX) in 2016
