Mayes led the Cardinals at the Gorilla Classic last weekend running a 13.98 in the 100-meter hurdles, breaking an eight-year-old record and becoming the first Jewell woman to go under 14 seconds. This marked her fifth broken record of the year and first of the outdoor season as she finished second place in the meet. She currently ranks atop the GLVC and 12th in Division II.
