Devin Hance enters his fourth season (2023-24) as the head powerlifting coach while also working with other Cardinal teams in strength and conditioning.   


Key Dates
• January 29, 2020 | Named head men's and women's powerlifting coach 
• May 1, 2021 | First powerlifting competition in program history
• October, 2021 | Hosted Missouri Championships - first home meet in program history


Jewell Highlights
• Led 10 student-athletes to the USAPL Collegiate National Championships in 2023 including Autum Baughey who placed fifth at 56 kg
• Boasted three top-four finishes in the first competition in program history, led by Aubrey Wiggans first place mark 
• Qualified two women and one man for the USAPL National Collegiate Championships in 2022, firsts in program history
• More than tripled the program size from year one to year three
• Hosted the first home meet in program history in October of 2021 with the Missouri State Championships

• Active member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association and Kansas Association for Health-Physical Education-Recreation-Dance and the National High School Strength and Conditioning Association
• Holds a Certified Strength and Conditioning Certificate, USA-Weightlifting Olympic Certification and Red Cross-First Aid/CRP/AED certification 
• Received his CF-1 certification in 2020 


Prior to Jewell
• Spent one year at KC Speed and Sport working with professional, college, and high school athletes
• Served on the strength staff at Missouri-Kansas City in 2018-2019, working primarily with the basketball, tennis, volleyball, softball, golf, soccer, and track and field and cross country teams
• Spent one year at Riverton High School in Kansas as the powerlifting coach and strength and conditioning teacher. 
• Began his career at Pittsburg State University as a graduate assistant during which time he taught elective courses and assisted student-athletes in the weight room


Personal
• Holds a bachelor's degree in physical education and a master's in human and health performance, both from Pittsburg State University
• Is married and has two sons
