Talley Stadium
Talley Stadium, named for former Cardinal Jack Talley and Fred Flook Field, named for the former coach and Jewell Hall of Famer, has been the home of the Cardinal baseball team since 2011. The field received a significant update in the spring of 2022 with the addition of synthetic turf and lights while the bullpen was moved inside the left field wall.Â
Prior the 2011 season, renovations were made in an effort to improve the ballpark. Seating capacity was increased with new chair back seating, a new press box, concessions and men's and women's restrooms were added and a plaza entrance is now featured. Gifts from Jack and Jill Talley and Lynn Schlemeyer-Cookson primarily funded the renovations.
On April 16, 2011 Jack Talley, Fred Flook and Lynn Schlemeyer-Cookson were recognized for their many contributions to the William Jewell College baseball program. The ballpark was rightfully dedicated Talley Stadium at Fred Flook Field and the press box is named after Lynn Schlemeyer-Cookson.

JACK TALLEY
A member of the William Jewell College class of 1980, Talley led the Cardinal baseball team to a high level of on-field success from 1977 to 1980. A two-time All-American and captain of a team that had won three straight conference championships, he capped off his career with a trip to the World Series as a senior. After graduating with a degree in business administration, he joined the Kansas City Royals organization with the Gulf Coast League in Sarasota, Florida. Talley's success on the playing field has been mirrored in his business career, his family life and his philanthropic efforts.
FRED FLOOK
A baseball coaching career spanning more than three decades has earned Flook a special place in the hearts of William Jewell College students and alumni. As head baseball coach he counts a 1968 National Championship and 23 Conference Championships among his achievements. Flook also coached intramural activities including bowling and gymnastics, along with varsity wrestling, cross country, basketball and football.
