The William Jewell College women's soccer team snapped a four game losing streak with a dominating 5-0 victory over St. Joseph's College (Ind.) in a Great Lakes Valley Conference tilt in Liberty, Mo., on Friday afternoon.
Sarah Franklin and
Lauren Hodges scored two goals each for Jewell which improved to 7-8 overall and 5-8 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
Mallory Malone also netted home a goal for the Cardinals.
The Lady Puma's fall to 2-14 overall, 1-12 in the GLVC.
Malone gave Jewell a 1-0 lead 12:08 into the contest with a goal that was assisted by Franklin. It was the fifth goal of the season for Malone, a junior from Blue Springs, Mo.
The Cardinals struck again in the 34th minute when
Sarah Franklin found the back of the net off a pass from
Taylore Depperman. Franklin scored again four minutes later off another pass from Depperman for her 12th goal of the season to give the Cardinals a 3-0 halftime lead.
Hodges scored the first of her two goals in the 59th minute off a pass from Franklin. Hodges capped off the scoring two minutes later as Depperman assisted on her third goal of the contest.

Kelli Sontag picked up her third shutout and made three saves.
The Cardinals will next host University of Indianapolis on Sunday, October 23 at 12:00 p.m. at Greene Stadium on the Jewell campus in Liberty, Mo.
