The William Jewell College women's soccer team dropped their 2011 home finale 2-1 this afternoon to the University of Indianapolis in a Great Lakes Valley Conference match in Liberty, Mo.
The Cardinals narrowly missed a chance to take a 1-0 lead with 13 minutes left in the first half but missed a penalty kick to keep the game scoreless.
The momentum swung the Greyhounds way as they scored less than a minute later as Nicole Duncan found the back of the net off on an assist from Shelby Spinelli.
The Greyhounds led 1-0 at halftime.
UIndy doubled their lead three minutes into the second half as Kelsey Wendholt scored her first collegiate goal.
The Cardinals got on the scoreboard in the 67th minute when
Taylore Depperman scored off an assist from
Sarah Franklin.
The Cardinals, 7-9 on the season, will close out the 2011 season at Rockhurst University on Wednesday, October 26 at 5:00 p.m. in Kansas City, Mo.
