Cards Win Overtime Thriller Over Druy

Box Score The William Jewell College men's Soccer team won a 2-1 double overtime thriller over Drury University on Friday in Liberty, Mo.

Jewell took an early 1-0 lead as Forrest McCurren netted home a goal off an assist from David Fox. In the 77th minute Drury tied things up with a goal by Alec Nagel. The game remained tied and went to overtime.

With three seconds left in the second overtime Chris Binns scored the game winner off a free kick as Drury's goalie was called for touching the ball outside of the goalie box.

For the Cardinals, McCurren and Binns had a team high three and two shots respectively.

Goalie Justin Schmidt recorded four saves on the night for Jewell.

The Cardinals, 2-0 on the season will continue GLVC action against Missouri S & T on Sunday, September 11 at 12:00 p.m. in Rolla, Mo.
