Cardinals Open GLVC Play With Win Over Drury

Box Score The William Jewell women's soccer team opened Great Lakes Valley Conference action with a 2-1 victory over Drury University on Friday evening in a game played at Greene Stadium in Liberty, Mo.

Sarah Franklin led the Cards with two goals and was assisted by Lauren Rein early in the first half, and from Sydney Jones late in the second half. Not only did scoring bring the Cardinals the win, but Kelli Sontag out saved Drury's goalie 8-3.

The Cardinals, 2-0 on the season will continue GLVC action against Missouri S & T on Sunday, September 11 at 12:00 p.m. in Rolla, Mo.
