On a cold Friday afternoon at Greene Stadium, the William Jewell women's soccer team tied Bellarmine University, 1-1, in double overtime. The Cardinals scored early in the game and gave up a late goal in the second half after holding the Lady Knights scoreless for most of the game.

Jewell (11-1-1, 9-1-1 GLVC) got off to a quick start when Sali Stout found Olivia Dykes for a header inside the box at the 11:19 mark of the game.  The goal marked season goal number four for Dykes. 

In the second half, the defense held strong against a series of Knights attacks until Alex Kowalski scored a header off a pass from Chelsea McCarty at the 84:39 mark. 

Bellarmine outshot Jewell 13-10 and shots on goal were even a four a piece.  Bellarmine also led the Cardinals in corner kicks 3-1.  The game also featured five yellow cards four on Bellarmine and one on Jewell. 

The Cardinals will host McKendree University on Sunday at 12:00 p.m.
