The William Jewell College women's soccer team won their seventh straight game with a 6-0 triumph over Great Lakes Valley Conference opponent University of Southern Indiana on Friday night in Evansville, Ind.
The Cardinals (10-1-0, 8-1-0 GLVC) scored their initial goal just 6:50 into the contest and never looked back against Southern Indiana.
Sarah Franklin scored the first of four goals off of an assist from
Ashley Licata.
Jewell added to its lead with three more goals in the 11th, 33rd and 41st minutes, all by Franklin, to take a 4-0 lead into the break.
Jewell's
Kate Beaver kept up the pressure in the second half, pumping in goals in the 45th and 54th, minutes to provide the final margin of victory.
The Cardinals outshot Southern Indiana 17-11 and led 11-3 in shots on goal.
Goalkeeper
Kelli Sontag recorded three saves and earned her fifth shutout of the season.
Jewell will look to continue their winning streak as they travel to Owensboro Kent., on Sunday for a 2:30 p.m. game against Kentucky Wesleyan College.
