Zane Christenson scored the game-winning goal at the 76;18 mark to lift the William Jewell College men's soccer team a 1-0 victory at Kentucky Wesleyan College on Sunday afternoon.
With the win, Jewell improved to 10-2-0 overall and 8-2-0 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Kentucky Wesleyan's record went to 0-12-0 (0-10-0 GLVC) with the loss.
In the 76th minute, Christenson received a pass from
Bryan Jones and the ball got past Panther goalkeeper Bill Ison and put Jewell up, 1-0.
It was Christenson's fourth goal of the season and the second game winning goal of the season.
Cardinal goalkeeper
Shane Van Hooser recorded his second shutout of the season and finished with three saves.
Jewell held a 31-8 advantage in shots and a 10-2 advantage in corner kicks.
The Cards will return to action on Friday, October 12 as they host Bellarmine University at 2:30 p.m.
