INDIANAPOLIS - William Jewell sophomore defender Caua Nascimento has been selected as the Great Lakes Valley Conference/Athletic Solutions Players of the Week in men's soccer, it was announced by the league office Monday. 

The St. Louis native is the first-ever Cardinal men's soccer Offensive Player of the Week since making the move to the NCAA after a weekend that saw the Jewell men tie No. 15 Lincoln (Mo.) on Friday night 4-4 and then a 4-3 win in the season finale over the UMSL Tritons. Over the course of the weekend Nascimento scored three goals, including two in the win over UMSL, and tallied an assist against the Tritons as well. After converting a penalty kick for the third goal in Sunday's one-goal win, the civil engineering major found the back of the net with only 45 seconds remaining to give Jewell a victory in the final game of the year.

The last Jewell men's soccer GLVC Players of the Week (regardless of offensive or defensive category) were Matt McDevitt (9/3/2012) and Troy Green (10/11/2011).
