Women's Soccer Advances to GLVC Title Match With 1-0 Win Over Bellarmine

Junior Sarah Franklin, who was named Great Lakes Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Year earlier in the day, scored  an unassisted goal from eight yards out in the forty second minute to lead the William Jewell College women's soccer team to the GLVC Tournament final with a 1-0 win over Bellarmine University on Friday evening.   

With the victory, the Cardinals improve to 15-1-3 on the year and will take on Quincy University on Sunday, Nov. 4 at noon. 
The Cardinals defeated Quincy 2-1 back on September 30 in Liberty. 

For the match, Bellarmine held a 14-9 edge in shots and an 7-1 advantage in corner kicks. Jewell goal keeper Kelli Sontag came through with six saves to register her tenth shutout of the year.
