The William Jewell College men's tennis team suffered defeats of 9-0 and 8-1 this weekend to Drury University on Friday and Southwest Baptist University on Saturday.

Against Drury the Cardinals fell in doubles by scores of 8-6, 8-3 and 8-4 at No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 doubles respectively. 
Drury swept singles play with Jewell battling in close contests at No. 2 and No. 6 singles.  Bryan Thomas lost a hard fought 6-3, 7-5 match while Jimmy Hunter fell 6-4, 6-4.

Against Southwest Baptist, the Cardinals again came out of doubles play in an 0-3 hole.  Jewell fell 8-1, 8-2, and 9-7 at No. 1, No. 2, No. 3 doubles. 

In singles action, Shane Giannetti fell 6-3, 7-6 at No. 1 singles, before Jewell's Jimmy Hunter won his match at No. 6 singles 0-6, 6-1, 10-5. 

The Cardinals, 8-5 on the spring, will host University of Missouri-St. Louis on Friday, April 6 at 2:00 p.m. at Clayview Country Club.
