Jewell men's soccer came back from a 1-0 deficit at halftime to tie the University of Missouri-St. Louis on Friday night, but came up short on a free-ball restart by the Tritons in the 72nd minute to fall 2-1.

UMSL (5-6, 4-5 GLVC) takes a two game lead on the Cardinals in the GLVC standings with the win.

The winning goal came after a Jewell foul 25 yards from the goal line.  With the ball spotted for play, UMSL took a quick restart kick past Shane Van Hooser for the score.

Trevor Pentola had the goal for the Cardinals (4-8, 2-7 GLVC); all three goals in the match were unassisted.

There were eight yellow cards issued in the contest.
