Cardinal women's soccer had to go six minutes into overtime to subdue the University of Missouri-St. Louis in Great Lakes Valley Conference soccer on Friday night.

Sarah Franklin had the winning goal in the 96th minute for Jewell (6-5-1, 4-4-1 GLVC). Jade Gifford and Emily Monroe had the other Jewell goals, and Gifford assisted on the Monroe and Franklin goals.

The Cardinals led 1-0 and 2-1 before UMSL forced overtime with a goal in the 48th minute.

The Cardinals had 14 shots, eight on goal; UMSL (4-6-1, 2-6-1 GLVC) had 10 shots, seven on goal.

Jewell hosts Maryville University Sunday at noon.
