Senior midfielder
Olivia Dykes scored the game-winning goal in the 15th minute as the William Jewell College women's soccer team defeated University of Indianapolis 3-0 on Sunday afternoon at Greene Stadium.
With the victory, the Cardinals extend their winning streak to three and improve to 10-6-1 overall and 8-5-1 in Great Lakes Valley Conference play. With the loss, the Greyhounds fall to 7-8-3 overall and 5-6-3 in the GLVC.
Dyke's goal ended up being the lone goal of the first half as Jewell led 1-0.
In the second half, Jewell would capitalize in the 60th minute when
Emily Monroe scored a goal giving the Cardinals a 2-0 advantage. Jewell would then score nine minutes later as senior
Sarah Franklin scored off a pass from
Ashley Licata which would seal the victory.
For the match, the Cardinals outshot the Greyhounds 15-5, and won the corner battle 5-1.
The women's soccer team returns to action on Wednesday, October 30 when they close out the regular season at Rockhurst at 5:00 p.m.
