The men's tennis team moved to 3-3 overall on the spring, as they dropped a 6-3 decision to former Heart of America Conference foe Lindenwood University.
In doubles action, the Jewell team of
Shane Giannetti and
Bryan Thomas defeated the Lindenwood team of Johanness Rabenhoast 8-6 at No. 1 doubles.
Jimmy Hunter and
Michael Wiskirchen put the Cards up 2-0 with an 8-4 win at No. 3 doubles. However, the Lions would get on the board with an 8-5 win over
Bronson Brassel and
Max Cooper at No. 2 doubles.
Singles play saw Lindenwood win five of the six singles matches. Giannetti lost a tough 6-2, 2-6, 10-7 match at No. 1 singles.
Bryan Thomas and
Bronson Brassel fell at No. 2 and No. 3 singles by scores of 6-0, 6-1 and 7-5, 6-3 respectively.
Michael Rawat fell 6-3, 6-0 at No. 4 singles while Hunter lost 6-0, 6-2 at No. 5 singles. Junior
Max Cooper won a thrilling 9-8 pro-set at No. 6 singles to give the Cards their third point of the dual.
The Cardinals will travel to Maryville, Mo., on Wednesday, March 13 to take on Northwest Missouri State University at 2:00 p.m.
