The William Jewell college men's tennis team earned their first ever trip to the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament with their 5-1 win over Quincy University this afternoon at Clayview Country Club.

Bronson Brassel and junior
Max Cooper won a tough fought 8-6 match at No. 2 doubles and junior
Michael Wiskirchen and sophomore
Jimmy Hunter defeated their opponents 8-3 at No. 3 doubles. Quincy earned their only point of the dual with a 9-8 win at No. 1 doubles over
Shane Giannetti and
Bryan Thomas.
Jewell earned the dual victory as Brassel, Giannetti and Cooper all won in straight sets at No. 3, No. 1 and No. 6 singles respectively.
The Cardinals (9-7, 3-3 GLVC) will face-off against the top seed from the East Division of the GLVC in the quarterfinals of next week's GLVC Tournament on Friday in Indianapolis, Ind. The bid for Jewell marks the first post-season berth for the team since the squad joined the conference two years ago.
