The William Jewell men's tennis team won five of six singles flights and all three doubles matches on way to an 8-1 Great Lakes Valley Conference win at Maryville University on Friday afternoon in St. Louis, Mo.
Jewell moves to 7-6 overall on the season and 1-2 in the GLVC.
Shane Giannetti and
Bryan Thomas earned an 8-5 win at No. 1 doubles.
Bronson Brassel and
Max Cooper blanked their opponents 8-0 at No. 2 doubles and
Jimmy Hunter and
Michael Wiskirchen won by default at No. 3.
Maryville earned their only point of the dual at No. 1 singles as
Shane Giannetti was forced to default due to sickness. The Cards then swept the remaining singles matches earning straight set wins. Thomas (6-0, 6-1), Brassel (6-0, 6-1), and Rawat (6-0, 6-0) were all victorious for the Cards.
Jimmy Hunter and
Max Cooper both won their matches at No. 5 and No. 6 singles respectively by default.
