The William Jewell College men's soccer team dropped a 2-1 overtime thriller to Missouri S&T in Great Lakes Valley Conference action on Sunday afternoon. The men fall to 1-3 overall while the Miners improve to 1-2 on the season.
After a scoreless first half, the Cardinals took a 1-0 lead when 
Drew Dempsey scored off a  pass from 
Zane Christenson at the 60:12 mark.
 
The Miners scored over a minute later off a Brian Seawright goal and the score would hold 1-1 until the end of regulation.
David Zdvorak  needed just eleven minutes of overtime to score a goal from 17 yards out to end the match in S&T's favor.
Shane Van Hooser took the loss in goal for Jewell, recording 9 stops on the afternoon.
The Miners outshot the Cardinals 29-13 and held a 10-1 advantage in corner kicks.
The men will be back in action on Friday, September 20 as they  travel to Lebanon, Ill., to take on McKendree University for a 7:30 p.m. start.
