A goal by Ashley Licata at the 69:19 mark lifted No. 13 William Jewell women's soccer to a 2-1 Great Lakes Valley Conference triumph at Missouri S&T on Sunday afternoon.

First-year Sydney White put the Cardinals  on top first with her goal at the 41:40 mark and went into halftime up 1-0.  S&T answered with a goal of its own by Sarah Hostler just over 1 minute into the second half to tie the match at 1.

Licata came up with the game-winner from  the top of the box off a double assist from Sarah Franklin and Leah Connery sending Jewell to a 4-0 overall mark.

Kelli Sontag had five saves in goal for the Cardinals.

The Miners outshot the Cardinals by a 12-11 count and had seven corner kicks to the Cardinals' three.

The Cardinals will travel to Lebanon, Ill., to take on McKendree University on Friday, September 20 at 5:00 p.m.
