The No. 13 ranked William Jewell College women's soccer team battled to a 1-1 tie in Great Lakes Valley Conference action against McKendree University on Friday afternoon in Lebanon, Ill.  The tie moved the Cardinals' record to 4-0-1 (2-0-1 GLVC) on the season while the Lady Bearcats move to 3-1-2 (1-0-2 GLVC).

McKendree started to the scoring off in the first half when Cassie Kaiping scored in the third minute off an assist from Chealsey Russell. 
Jewell answered with a goal of their own in the 22^nd minute when Ashley Licata scored off a pass from Sarah Franklin. 

The Game would remain tied at one at the end of regulation. 

In the overtime period, neither team was able to pull away from the other and the game ended in a 1-1 tie.

Overall for the game, the Cardinals outshot the Bearcats 19-18 including 8-5 with shots on goal.  For the game, Kelli Sontag had seven saves. 

Jewell will be back in action on Sunday when they travel to Louisville, Kent., when they take on Bellarmine University at 12:00 p.m.
